Eliza Diop is a business coach based in Los Angeles, CA. Ellie has extensive experience in Sales, Management, and Leadership Development. At 25 years old, she was leading a team of 100 people as director of sales for a financial institution. In July 2020, amidst a job loss and divorce, Ellie started her business out of necessity.
By providing resources to start an online business and earn money online, she has empowered thousands of women and has grown her Instagram following from less than 500 people to over 100,000 in 7 months. In 10 months, after starting her business with $1200 of stimulus money, she has made $1.3 million and counting. Ellie is passionate about teaching other women and moms how to start their businesses and scale them up to 7-figures and beyond.
In episode 99, Ellie & I talk about:
- Identifying your business idea—having the desire to launch a business can come from wanting to diversify your income streams, be your own boss, or having more flexibility. When your initial drive isn’t necessarily an idea, there are steps you can take to hone in on finding what you can build your business around. For Ellie, this required reflecting on her corporate experience and what she’s learned from these spaces. Listen to hear the other questions she recommends we ask ourselves.
- The early stages of her online business—Ellie didn’t make her first sale until about 3 months after launching her platform and business. And this was intentional. As a new business owner, she knew she had to first build trust through providing value to her audience. Learn how Ellie took her first pool of audience members from free-content consumer to her first sales (without any ads!)
- Building her business through social media—from market research, to ideating new products, Ellie has leveraged her social media platform to build her business from the ground up. In this episode, you’ll learn why your business doesn’t need to be fully built out when you launch and how you can continue evolving your business to fit what your audience is asking for.
- Building business credit—if you don’t know what this is, start with this episode! Ellie makes a few things clear, including how your personal credit is different than your business credit line.
